Honda will revive two mini-block cars: HONDA GORILLA Gorilla and DAX!

Honda plans to revive GORILLA (Gorilla) and DAX two mini block cars, and will be included in Honda's "CUB" cub family.




The Honda "Gorilla" is a variant of the 125cc Honda "Monkey". It was born in 1967 and is considered a "special car for the elderly". It was very popular in the market at that time. The most obvious difference from "Monkey" is that the fuel tank capacity is much larger. Its design also has its own unique features, capturing the gorilla's simple and strong traits.


Another mini car, the Honda DAX, was born in 1969, and its model size and style are unique. Use 50cc, 70cc and 90cc single cylinder engines respectively. Compared with "Gorilla" and "Monkey", DAX has a smaller body size and was also popular in the Japanese and European markets at that time.


Looking at the whole world, in terms of the variety of models, there may not be any motorcycle manufacturing company comparable to HONDA. Especially in recent years, Honda's model development plan has followed the characteristic route of "return of retro innovation, linkage of displacement up and down, and blooming of models".

What is commendable is that on the way to expand the performance of "Triple R" (RR-R), do not forget the in-depth exploration of the value of the mini models of the "CUB" cub family.

The existing Honda "CUB" cub family includes the Cub 125/110 elegant series, the CT125 multi-functional series and the Monkey monkey play type 3 models. All use the same 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder alarm. Honda's next step will be to revive the "Gorilla" gorilla and the new DAX based on this classic engine.

I am afraid that no such company can achieve this ability. Even more valuable is that each variant has its own characteristics, has its own fans, and can all contribute amazing sales data to the "CUB" family. "Hundreds of millions" sales volume is a strong proof.
